The weeks gatherings

Never played Darksiders and snagged them both off eBay for a very good deal
Also been curious about Asura's Wrath, though now looking on the store i fear it may have DLC :/ Ratchet & Clank is one I have been after for AAAAAAAAAAAAAges
Saw it in GAME and thought enough toying about and just got it, it had nt been cheaper online at all anyway.
Tomb Raider... lets just say I got it for very cheap...

Bundle of Arrivals:

Been interested in the MotorStorm games for a while so hunted them down this week for very good prices. I got Enslaved as my version I already own isn't compatible with the Pigsy DLC - A different European version I guess. Pounced on MoH Reboot after hearing it has Frontline (My favourite MoH) on disc. I've neevr played Outlast but heard good things, interestingly it has 2 discs, 1 for the first game with the DLC Whistleblower and then a seperate disc for Outlast II.

I put a lot of enjoyable hours into the original MotorStorm. However, I never really got into any of the sequels outside of playing Pacific Rift in a demo. There is also a PSP game in case you are looking for all of them.

I have been eyeing a PSP verion up in town, but it is a Platinum version... Played a bit of Pacifc Rift the other day, it's okay but my god the amount of times I have crashed for petty collisions, Hope they fixed that in Apocalypse.

The game forces you to drive very accurately. You have to learn the tracks first and see what routes and jumps are safe to take. Once you do it's an incredibly rewarding experience  .
Apokalypse isn't as strict with its collision detection but still rougher than most racing games.

PS: If you plan on getting #1 on every career race in Pacific Rift: Good luck

I went a little overboard on the Square Enix sale.  It was a pretty good deal though, and all are new.

I did the exact same thing. Got greatest hits versions of FFX, FFX-2, FF Origins, FF Chronicles, and FFXII. Also picked up Type-0 on XB1 to fill that slot as well.

Had a buy 2 get 1 free preowned coupon for GameStop. I'm trying to finish getting all the ps2 remasters that I want for PS3. Also almost done with collecting the whole ratchet and clank series. Always wanted to play heavenly sword too. R&c was $8, heavenly sword was $5, used the coupon for the remasters and paid $30

I think I'm only after 5 or 6 more for PS3. They are so great. I have all the original ps2 versions but I don't have my ps2 set up right now. I have a backwards compatible PS3 but it's stored cause of the size. I'd much rather use my slim

To be honest all of them are great apart from the Silent Hill HD Collection - Which breaks my heart. I experienced ICO & SotC first in th HD Remaster and it was glorious! Here is a list of them - http://playstationage.com/index.c...

That list is (it's just easier to bundle them together in search as they're all labled under a Classics HD Collection, which they're not in the US), Though the majority of them are released in the US too, the only one I am not sure about is KillZone 1, which was released in a trilogy boxset in PAL regions - http://playstationage.com/index.c...

Oh wait that has a US release under the Series Collections - a Print sellection which has titles in Gold/Yellow - http://playstationage.com/index.c...

I've also heard bad things about the Silent Hill HD Remasters, but I've never played them. The only HD remaster I've had trouble with was the Medal of Honor HD remaster, which gets a little buggy in the last few levels. I've really enjoyed the Ico/SOTC and the Tomb Raider HD remasters. Those worked really well.

The main problem with Silent Hill HD Collection is that the team the worked on it didn't get the final version from konami.
What they received was unfinished code with missing assests, bugs and more.

In my opinion, HD in general don't do justice for these games.
I really like the blurry composite on LCD in the middle of the night playing Silent Hill 1,2,3,4.

These games are my favorite horror games.

Keep in mind that sometimes, there are a few minor changes in the HD remaster that can improve the game. For example, in the US the HD remaster of Ico uses the PAL version of the game which had some minor differences compared to the US version. These differences are pretty much universally considered better on the PAL version. So arguably, in the US the HD remaster version is a big improvement over the original PS2 version.

Silent Hill series producer Tomm Hulett has finally been able to explain why Silent Hill: HD Collection was such a disappointing mess. It turns out that what we got wasn't ported from the final versions of each game. Konami, true to its form as an incompetent barnyward of jokers, lost the source code.

"We got all the source code that Konami had on file -- which it turns out wasn’t the final release version of the games," he told 1UP. "So during debug we didn’t just have to deal with the expected ‘porting’ bugs, but also had to squash some bugs that the original team obviously removed prior to release, but we’d never seen before.

"A lot of assets such as textures and sound had to be taken out of the compiled game, and that brings with it a host of unique issues, especially taken on top of the tricky coding workarounds at play in the original games. We certainly had our hands full. I think at one point Heather was blue."

To be honest, from a techincal stand point Silent Hill 3 was fine after the update, but they removed the original voice acting! SH2 on t he same disc had the option to switch but SH3 you were stuck with the bland new VO. I played through 3 but love Silent Hill 2 too much to have it ruined by this collection.

Ok I found some good deals on stuff I was after. Lately I have been thinking of just getting all the last PS3 games I want while they're inexpensive. I think there are only 4 more of the "collection" type games I want. I got the best of psn so I could play tokyo jungle, someone recommended it. I already had God of war hd collection but I sold a spare ps3 I had to a friend and he never played god of war so I gave it to him. Never played zone of the Enders but the used game store by my house sold that to me sealed for $7
I heard el shadaii was cool and just by reading the manual and back cover I can't wait.. and lair I heard is shit but I'm after some of the first party exclusives that I wanted to play on ps3 when it was new. (Yep I'm playing PS3 games for the first time lol).

I have a vita slim already and I wanted the oled. I Bought this one off Craigslist with the games as a bundle. Cod was the first vita game that came w my slim. I played it and sold that crap but it made its way back lol. I was after nfs already. Mma isn't anything special to me. Now I can sell my  black slim psvita to pay for my silver slim model I can't wait.

And lastly at the same used game store I continually go to they had the mark ecko getting up collectors edition for $20. I said I would save it for next time and the next day my friend texts me and asks if I have anything to trade for the game cause he had an extra copy and instantly I knew he bought the collectors edition. I traded him for capcom vs snk 2 on the GameCube because that game is bull on the GameCube. I know it's worth more but I don't care he's a friend and hopefully good collectors karma lol. Anyways sorry for the ramble.

Weekly gatherings:

After getting the GotY edition of Borderlands on PS3, I was after the others, luckily as the Tales of game is on PS+ this month physical Editions are dirt cheap and the PS4 Collection I got NEW for £12 at Argos, so pleased overall

Big gathering this week

Lot of exciting stuffs! Thrilled to have Parappa The Rapper on PS4 - A Japanese version which is in English. Also curious about King Of Fighters Bundle which has 94 to 98 seemed like a nice title to get on PSP. Nabbed Tales of Berseria for cheap too so looking forward to getting time ready for that too!
