Since we have a "How many PS2 games do you have?" thread, I thought I'd start one for PS3.

So how many PS3 games do you currently own?

What's the total when you add your physical PS3 games plus digital PSN downloads?

How many games do you plan on collecting for PS3 in total?

Feel free to add anything else such as what you like/dislike about PS3 or how you think it will be regarded 10-15-20 years from now, etc...

So how many PS3 games do you currently own? 120 as of 3/22/17

What's the total when you add your physical PS3 games plus digital PSN downloads? probably around 150-160

How many games do you plan on collecting for PS3 in total? maybe 130 - 140 not counting PSN downloads

I like the PS3 compilations, remasters, remakes, and built in Blu-ray/DVD player. I dislike the small HD space in earlier models and YLOD problems in the full backwards compatible models.

Overall I don't think the PS3 gets enough credit. I honestly think the PS3 will be well regarded 5-10 years from now even without anymore online support.

That's a great idea because I do the same thing. Generally speaking, if I can buy a brand new PS3 game I want for under $20, I'll go with that. Otherwise I always buy used and 99% of the time they're in great condition. I remember going to a local store a few months back and picked up 8 used PS3 games and 1 used Wii game for the price of 1 new PS4 game (about $50-$60).

I don't know any console ever made that has 1,000 or even 300 quality games I'd actually sit down and play. Too many low quality games or genres that I don't play. I'm still impressed when I see collectors obtain these huge collections though because they're fun to read about and look at.

I actually don't know, as I have collected over the last six years and stashed them away in different places during this time. Some are Amaray releases, while others are SteelBooks and CE's. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say 60-75, but may be closer to 100. I know that I don't have as many PS3 games as I do X360.

Just out of curiosity, are you still collecting CEs for PS4 ??  I vowed not to but I compromised by getting selective ones and not everything.

In answer to the topic question, without a thorough count easily 200 + many of them steelbooks or variants or CEs.

I've bought 90% of my games for <£10. £15 is my magic price point for RPGs/rarer games since a lot of the time that's as low as they will be dropping for some time.

I'm being expecially selective from here on in, and only really buying console exclusive CE's now. I learned my lesson last-gen, and it got to the point of ridiculousness. I probably have 200+ X360 CE's and SteelBooks, and a vast majority of my PS3 collection consists of the same. It was a good idea at the start when there were only occasional CE releases, but then the publishers decided to exploit collectors - Ubisoft more than any other, and yes, I'm still boycotting them.

I'm hovering around 30 titles at the moment in physical form but have probably another 30 or so on PSN, mostly ones that were download-only. If I had more room I'd have more games but space is tight at the moment.

You can tell by how half arsed most of them are that they are just done because they can.

Theres the odd cool ones that pop up like Ni No Kuni and more recently Fallout 4 but the vast majority are just cheap pieces of tat. Whats worse is there is often a ton of cool things they could have put in a collectors edition but would take actual effort to make so instead they just churn out 100000000000 "limited collectors editions" and roll around in money.

What's the total when you add your physical PS3 games plus digital PSN downloads? About 140+

How many games do you plan on collecting for PS3 in total? I'm not sure, to be honest, I look at my PS3 collection and I feel quite content, there aren't really any titles off the top of my head that I can think of that I actually want. I may get one or two down the line but I'd say my PS3 colelction is pretty much complete.

Feel free to add anything else such as what you like/dislike about PS3 or how you think it will be regarded 10-15-20 years from now, etc...

BLU-RAY! - I remember hearing that PS3 discs would be nearly unmarkable. I simply didn't believe it back in the mid 2000's. But after a generation of using Blu-Ray discs I have to say it is one of the biggests changes this generation for me. No longer do I have to worry about buying game pre-owned. Even if they had smudge marks on them just a quick wipe and the disc looks mint again. I really think this is one of the biggest step forwards from last gen, knwoing that I can preseve my games with more ease.

So how many PS3 games do you currently own? 798 western releases plus two japanese games so 800 total

What's the total when you add your physical PS3 games plus digital PSN downloads? Not sure as I tend to delete games to make space on my hard drive once I'm done with them (can always redownload if I feel the need to). It has to be 1000+ though. Been a PS+ member from day one with about a year without the subscription so I got tons of games just from that

How many games do you plan on collecting for PS3 in total? All of them because I love playing PS3 games. It's my favorite console ever and the library is out of this world.

Feel free to add anything else such as what you like/dislike about PS3 or how you think it will be regarded 10-15-20 years from now, etc...

It will be a classic console just like the PS1 and PS2 were before it. Even the games you think would be crappy often times aren't half bad. I played through over 150 of my disc-based PS3 games and there were maybe five games I hated and maybe another 15-20 that I disliked. The rest I enjoyed to an extend that I would say more good things about them than bad things. I think the ratio between good and bad games will be leaning a lot more towards the good games than it was with the PS1 and PS2 but that may also be because people nowadays know how to program games so they actually work . Hopefully we won't have to endure too many more shovelware titles in the final stretches of the consoles life. I know we're still gonna get a Barbie and a Monster High game which I'm not looking forward to.

I think I'm a little over 200 games now. Here's my main bulk of about 180, then I have a bunch of the bigger collectors editions spread around the room.

Very nice collection!

I have to ask, why have so many doubles? For example, I see you have the Bioshock games but then you have the CE set. Why not sell off the originals to fund other games you don't yet own? Just a suggestion.

You certainly have a slightly different taste in games than me based off what I see. For example, in the first stack out of six there's only 1 game I know of and own (The Simpsons). I don't think I've heard of the rest in that stack but perhaps I'll have to do some digging.

What are some of you favorite under rated/unknown PS3 games? What is your end goal for PS3? Do you plan on beefing it up a lot more or perhaps trim the fat down the road?

That is an awesome collection right there!

I recently went through a purge of all my games and am down to around 35 PS3 games.

Thanks!

I actually don't own any doubles, I usually pull the games out of the collectors editions when I play em and sometimes don't get around to pitting em back, lol, which is probably why you see infinite then the collector's edition for it as well. Same with the Tales of games. I have the steel books and regulars copies pulled from the collector's edition boxes.

I've already trimmed the fat quite a bit. I sold all my sealed games this past year to fund more game purchases. The bulk of those were collectors edition rpgs which some i would like to get back to play like the Kingdom Hearts bundles. Most all of these are games I want to own and play.

As far as goals, im not going for a full set, just keep picking up games that look interesting to me when I find em cheap. There's still quite alot I'm after, probably 50 or so I can think of that I plan to add to the collection but I sorta just pick em up when I come across em. I hit up gamestops buy 2 get 1 sales quite a bit. It's a good time to collect for the ps3 since it's on its way out and most of the games can be found for pretty cheap! I always loved the system and the games. It was my main system last gen so I've collected more for it than the 360.

Some of my favorite, maybe lesser known titles would be: Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes, Enslaved Odyssey To The West, Vanquish, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles II, Rune Factory Tides of Destiny, Under Defeat HD, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Puppeteer, and I really enjoy some of the racing games like the Motorstorm trilogy, Blur and Split Second to name a few! oh, and Twisted Metal was alot of fun!

Very nice! I'll have to check out those suggestions.

I see you also have The Orange Box and Portal 2, both of which I've heard so many good things about but never played.

You're right, it's a great time to collect for PS3, especially if you're buying used from places like Gamestop! I'm also discovering tons of interesting looking games I've never heard of via PSN on the PS3. I need to do some research before I go buying all of them because I don't want to end up buying a dud.

PS3 is truly a great console. I'm always torn between PS2 or PS3 as my personal favorite. It's just such a pain when a PS3 breaks and you lose all the game data, updates, etc... At least when PS2 breaks, you can just go buy another one for cheap somewhere and don't have to worry about updates. I'm not going to lie...I'm a Sony fanboy at heart even though I appreciate and enjoy all major consoles.
